Q7. What is the mode of admission to Undergraduate Programmes?

Ans. The admission to B.A. / B.Com. semester-I will be made online exclusively through the website www.distanceeducationju.in w.e.f session 2018-19. The admission to B.A. /B.Com. semester III, V & Part III for the session 2018-19 is manual and will be made directly by the admission committee of the programmes at the DDE and its learner support centers.

Ans. Information is available in the Postgraduate Prospectus and also on the website of the DDE.

Q 10. From where do I get the prospectus?

Ans. The prospectus for B.A./B.Com. semester-I and all P.G. programmes will be available from the notified branches of Jammu and Kashmir Bank.

The prospectus for B.A. / B.Com.  semester-III, V and Part III shall be available in the DDE, University of Jammu and at its learner support centres.

Q 11. Do I need to bring relevant original certificates at the time of admission?

Ans. Yes.

Q 12. What type of attestation is required for documents to be submitted with the Admission Application form?

Ans. Self attestation.

Q 13. When are the Personal Contact Programmes Conducted?

Ans. The academic schedule is made available in the prospectus relevant to the programme and on the website of the DDE.

 

Q14.  Is it compulsory to attend the PCPs?

Ans. Attending PCPs in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes is optional except in PGDBM programme. However, the distance learners are advised to attend the PCPs as far as possible. Because these would be very useful to comprehend concepts/ideas discussed in the self learning material, get clarifications for many doubts and interaction with fellow learners.

Ans. PCP schedule is published in the prospectus of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You can also visit the DDE website for updates.

Ans. Yes- Attending practicals in home-science, psychology, statistics, geography and music is compulsory to sit in the semester-end examination.

Q 21. Do you offer any scholarship?

Ans. The DDE forwards the applications of distance learners who apply for scholarship to various agencies.

Q 22. After being admitted to any DDE programme can a student cancel the admission and request for refund of fee?

Q23. How can I receive support if I have doubts while studying the SLM?

Ans.  We provide face to face contact between learners and teachers/resource persons at the DDE in Postgraduate programmes during the PCP to clarify your doubts and answer your academic queries. In undergraduate programmes, PCPs are organized at the DDE and its learner support centres.

Q24. Are the assignments compulsory?

Ans. Yes submission of assignments is compulsory to sit in semester-end examination.

Q25. Do the assignments carry any weightage?

 Ans. Yes assignments carry a weightage of 20% in the overall assessments.

Q26. Where will the examinations be held?

Ans. The examinations are held at the centres notified by the Controller of Examinations.

Q27. From where do I know the date of examination?
